Capital Electric Construction proudly delivered unparalleled electrical construction services for the beautiful new terminal at Kansas City International Airport. The company was a major contributor to the airport terminal, landside construction and airside construction.
Capital Electric spearheaded the electrical aspects of the cutting-edge terminal construction project while employing design-build procurement. The team, with help from collaborators, built the power and lighting procurement to support the new 39-gate terminal. The company installed the 16-4000A 480/277V services, 208/120V distribution and branch circuits to support terminal operations, four emergency distribution systems, lightning protection systems, mechanical equipment power connections, passenger boarding bridge and eGSE power, lighting and lighting controls.
Their landside construction included the installation of new roadway and surface parking lot lighting power systems and vehicle charging stations to support the new terminal and parking garage configuration.
The airside construction included the relocation of FAA and KCAD communication duct banks, installation and reconfiguration of taxiway center/edge lighting and lit navigation signage, installation of apron high mast lighting and fence lighting. Power and lighting services for GSE tanks and glycol storage equipment power rough-in were also included. These services are essential to ensure safe and convenient travel in and out of Kansas City International Airport.
